Fair Princess and Fairest of the Fair will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2014. Petite Miss and Sweetheart Pageants will be held Monday, August 4, 2014. Little Miss will be held on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at 6:00 PM.

  1. Fair pageant contestants will follow the Tennessee "Fairest of the Fair" contest rules. The pageants are for female contestants ages 4 through 20 years old. Contestants cannot be married, have a child, or be with child. They will reside full time within the boundaries of Macon County and the state of Tennessee. The fair pageant committee has the right to check the residency. Only one female can be backstage with each contestant. All decisions made by the committee and judges will be final.
  2. The contestant must complete, sign, and return the entry form with a $25.00 entry fee and a non-perishable food item on Thursday, July 24, between 5 PM and 7 PM in the Martha Wilburn Pavilion at the Macon County Fairgrounds. No late entries will be accepted; no refund. The food items will be donated to Macon Helps.
  3. Returning the completed and signed entry form gives your permission to use your photo and name in the local video, radio, website and newspapers. Also your permission does not hold Macon County and the Fair Board liable for any lost, stolen, damaged property or accidents resulting from any event held on Macon County property.
  4. Practice for Little Miss, Petite Miss, Sweetheart, and Princess will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2014 beginning at 10 AM in the Martha Wilburn Pavilion at the fairgrounds. Fairest of the Fair contestants need to bring your Miss Photogenic 5x7 picture when you interview and vote on Miss Congeniality on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 1:30 PM.
  5. Fair Queens will receive a crown, trophy, sash, flowers and cash award. Runner-ups will receive trophy and flowers. All 2014 Queens are expected to participate in the Macon County Christmas Parade and the 2015 Macon County Fair Pageants.
  6. The 2014 Fairest of the Fair will help with the Food Drive for Macon Helps and with the remaining scheduled events at the 2014 Macon County Fair. She will also be required to represent Macon County in the Tennessee Association of Fairs State Pageant in January 2015.

Grab your bricks, fire up your imagination and create!

The builders already know how to build with Lego bricks, but will learn fundamentals of engineering, architecture, physics, problem-solving and creative expression.

  1. The builder will bring his or her own Lego, Duplo, Mega Blocks or other Lego compatible plastic bricks and a base to build your entry on.
  2. Entries must be your own creation.
  3. You will be allowed a maximum time of 45 minutes to assemble your Lego creation.
  4. You can construct on your own table or on the pavilion concrete floor.
  5. There will be a judge observing you as you work.
  6. Prize ribbons and crowd favorite will be awarded in each category.
  7. Awards will be based on creativity, imagination, and originality.

OUTLAW CLASSES: 4000 - 5000 - 6000 - 7000

  1. Tire size in classes up to 16.9 is 5500. 18.4 can be used in 6500 and up.
  2. Drivers under 18 years of age must have parent signature.
  3. Pull becomes official after 20 ft.
  4. Only rubber tires allowed. Tires may be cut.
  5. Drawbar height 20 in. max. measured from top of hole in drawbar (pull point) to the ground. Minimum length 18 in. from the center of the rear axle to the center of the hole. Only loop or clevis hitch. NO ball or hooks.
  6. One tractor can pull in two classes.
  7. If tractor or sled touches boundary line, the pull ends.
  8. All Antique Classes have a 4 mph speed limit.
  9. Add on weights allowed. Weights may extend 11 ft. from the center of the rear axle. from the tractor while it is hooked to the sled, will be disqualified.
  10. Tractors will be weighed with the driver.
  11. Tractors being operated in an unsafe manner will be disqualified.
  12. Distance pulled will determine the winner.
  13. Driver must remain seated at all times.
  14. Front end raises more than 18 in. will be flagged.
  15. Tractors must retain stock appearance.
  16. Factory High RPM, 20% override allowed.
  17. Outlaw Classes are any gear - any RPM - scatter shield or blanket required.
  18. JUDGE'S DECISION IS FINAL.

  2. Drivers under the age of 18 must have parent’s signature.
  3. Will draw for pulling position.
  4. Only rubber tires allowed. No dual wheels, four wheel drive or chains allowed.
  5. Judges can re-weigh winning tractors.
  6. Weights must be securely fastened.
  7. Pulling - 21” maximum, measured from pulling point.
  8. All contestants must furnish their own clevis and pin.
  9. To determine pulling gear, you get two (2) tries.
  10. If any tractor tires touch or extend over edge of track, tractor will be disqualified.
  11. Any tractor being operated in an unsafe manner will be disqualified.
  12. Weigh in for 1st class will begin at 4:00 p.m.
  13. Tractors will be weighed with the drivers.
  14. Tractors must be ready when called for.
  15. Distance pulled will determine the winners.
  16. The decisions of the judges are final.
  17. All tractors must have tractor motor.
  18. Drivers must remain in seat.
  19. No cut type tires.
  20. No ball hitch allowed.
  21. All protesting must be done before tractor leaves track.
  22. All tractors that participate in the stock farm classes must be in stock condition. For example, lift arms, PTO & fenders must be on tractor if it came with it from the factory.
  23. Tractors over 3,000 RPMs must pull in the Hot Farm Class.
  24. Any tractor over 3,000 RPMs must have scatter blanket, tie bars, wheelie bars and kill switch/air shut off with cable run to rear of tractor.
  25. ABSOLUTELY NO ALCOHOL. IF DRIVERS ARE FOUND TO BE UNDER THE INFLUENCE, THEY WILL BE DISQUALIFIED. NO EXCEPTIONS.

  1. The three (3) categories will be judged in the following order:
    Chicken (including Cornish Game Hen & Kosher Hen) 5:00 PM
    Beef Ribeye Steak (provided) 5:30 PM
    Pork Ribs (shale include bone) 6:00 PM
  2. Meat inspection will be held from 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM the day of contest. Once inspected, the meat cannot leave the contest site. A contestant meeting will be held at 9:30 AM all competition meet shall start out raw. No pre-seasoned meat is allowed. Contestant must provide the chicken and pork ribs. The Macon County Cattlemen's Association will provide the ribeye steaks.
  3. Fire shall be of wood, wood pellets or charcoal. Parboiling and/or deep frying competition meat is NOT ALLOWED.
  4. Contestant shall provide all needed equipment and supplies.
  5. Garnish is optional. If used, it is limited to chopped, sliced, shredded or whole leaves of fresh green lettuce.
  6. Sauce is optional. If used, it shall be applied directly to the meat and not pooled or puddled in the container. No side sauce containers will be permitted in the turn-in container.
  7. Entries will be submitted in an approved container (provided by the Macon County Fair). The number must be on top of the container at turn-in. The container shall not be marked in anyway so as to make the container unique or identifiable. No foreign materials in the container.
  8. Each contestant must submit at least three (3) separated portions of meat in a container. Chicken and beef ribeye steak may be submitted chopped, pulled, sliced, or diced as the cook sees fit, as long as there is enough for three (3) judges. Ribs shall be turned in bone-in (2 bones).
  9. It is the responsibility of he contestant to see that the team's assigned cooking space is clean and orderly following the contest.
  10. Awards will be presented to the top three (3) in each category (Beef Ribeye Steak, Chicken and Pork Ribs). A Grand Champion Award will be presented to the overall highest score. Only contestants who enter all three (3) categories are eligible for the Grand Champion Award.
